Summer School
Ash Manor School offered a place in Summer School to every student due to enter Year 7 in September 2026: our class of 2031. Our Summer School lasted one week from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th August.
Over 60% of the Year 6 students accessed all or part of the Summer School. They worked alongside our senior students who are either members of our Student Senior Leadership Team or Subject Ambassadors. Our cadets also contributed to the week, planning and delivering engaging outdoor sessions.

The Class of 2031 spent the week working within the tutor groups that they will be in for the next 5 years, getting to know each other and learning together. Each tutor group was supported by assigned senior students, and the level of support and encouragement shown by these older students helped everyone to learn more and to be confident about entering secondary school.
A wide range of subjects were covered throughout the week with classes including English, Maths, Science, Media, Food, Art, DT, Drama, Geography and PE, as well as outdoor challenges with the cadets. Our students also got the chance to experience the great food served by our canteen staff throughout the week, with meals provided for everyone.

All of the lessons were taught by Ash Manor teachers and staff we regularly welcome into school, ensuring that the excellence we value so highly was delivered. This also allowed the Class of 2031 to meet the same teachers they will work with from September.

Summer School 2026 was a huge success with loads of positive feedback from the Class of 2031, the SSLT and ambassadors, the cadets and the staff: a great week for everyone involved.
Save the Date: Class of 2032
