Lee Callow - Chair of Governors Lee has served in the UK Armed Forces for 28 years with a deep training and assurance background. He took over the role of Chair of Governors in 2023 and also chairs the Experience Sub-committee. Lee was born in Guildford but has travelled extensively due to work. Lee moved back to the area in 2019 and has 2 children, one of whom attends Ash Manor School and is in Y10. He enjoys being active with his family including his 2 dogs. |

Steve Westcott – Vice Chair Steve has recently retired, but worked as a Business Analyst in the Telecommunications and Media industry for most of his career He has lived in Ash Vale with his wife for over 20 years, and has two sons who have both now completed the Ash Manor journey. He enjoys the outdoor life and has been encouraging young people through his involvement with the Scout organisation since his own childhood, currently holding the position of Explorer Scout Leader with one of the local units. He joined the board of governors in 2020. |

Miranda Harrison – Co‐opted Governor Miranda is a Headteacher at PRU in Surrey and has taught in Alternative Provision since 2014. Been a Surrey Governor since 2005. Miranda has been a Surrey governor for over 15 years and has three children who have all attended Ash Manor. Her background is HR and Data management and she chairs the Standards and Performance committee, overseeing pupil progress and attainment.

Sandra Jones - Parent Governor Sandra lives in Ash Vale and has been involved in various local initiatives such as the local COVID support group. She works for a market research company based in London where she looks after the strategy and development of the insight department. She currently has two children who attend Ash Manor. She brings her experience and dedication to the local community to support the education of students at Ash Manor. |

Jane Sheridan – Co‐opted Governor Jane works at Ash Manor part‐time as Careers Lead delivering the Careers Programme across all year groups and providing students with STEM and business related enrichment opportunities. In addition, she works for SATRO, an education charity in Guildford. Jane is a Trustee of the Farr Foundation and a Search Technician for Sussex Search Dogs. She became a Parent Governor in 2011 and is now a Co‐opted Governor. |

Amy Rowley – Co‐opted Governor Amy is the marketing lead for the careers team at the University of Surrey, with a background working in the Higher Education sector. Her professional background includes dedicated support to schools and colleges in facilitating students' pursuit of their future aspirations. Her own academic journey includes a degree in Photography and the attainment of a Postgraduate Certificate in Humanities, which underscored her commitment to guiding students towards their future. As a local girl, Amy looks forward to supporting the students, parents and staff at Ash Manor to reach their full potential. |

Marie Curtis-Nice – Co‐opted Governor Marie is the Headteacher of Ash Grange Nursery and Primary School, which she has been for 14 years. She is passionate about transforming lives and nurturing people, younger and older to achieve their potential. Marie loves a challenge whether it be climbing a high mountain or trying to get her veg to grow in the garden! She is delighted to support her local community of Ash through this role as a Governor. |

Darren Midson - Co-opted Governor Darren has spent his career in the defence industry. He is a chartered engineer and has a degree in electronic engineering. He is currently an Assistant Chief Engineer working on the development of the next generation of UK/USA/Australian Navy Submarine. Darren lives in Ash Vale and has a son in Y10 at Ash Manor. In his spare time Darren supports his sons football club and is a MCR pathway mentor. Darren is keen to share his passion and encourage young people to explore careers in engineering |

Barry Winsper - Co-Opted Governor Barry is an Aeronautical Engineering Instructor with over 30 years of experience split between the military and civilian sectors. He has a strong and diverse instructional portfolio, ranging from STEM subjects, military and political history to leadership and management. He’s also a keen data harvester to drive efficient and effective change and gets far too excited about a good spreadsheet. Passionate about the outdoors and adventurous activities, often taking his Yr10 twin daughters on hiking or kayaking trips. |

Matt Furniss - Co-Opted Governor Matt Furniss serves as Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Economic Growth at Surrey County Council, where he has overseen transportation initiatives since 2017. He combines this public service role with his position as Commercial Manager at Roots & Wings Organic, where he has managed client relationships and business development since 2009. Matt has previously served as Governor of St Peters, Merrow and Guildford College.

Sarah Warrington - Staff Governor Sarah has been a Science teacher for 10 years. She joined Ash Manor in 2022 as a Lead Practitioner for Science, and became Head of Science in 2024. Prior to becoming a teacher, Sarah undertook a PhD in Palaeontology and Palaeobotany at Royal Holloway University, specialising in Cretaceous wildfires in dinosaur-dominated ecosystems. She lives in Aldershot with her husband and two children (aged 4 and 8).

Susbin Shrestha - Co-Opted Governor
Susbin is currently a management trainee at Surrey County Council and previously worked for a regional fuel poverty charity. His professional background includes working closely with local authorities and a current area of focus is on local government reorganisations.
This includes 6-months with Surrey's Communities and Prevention team, to deliver a Green Social Prescribing project to create nature-based activities to support the wellbeing of neurodiverse children and young people on assessment waiting lists. Susbin was a pupil at Ash Manor and his academic journey since then includes a degree in Economics and International Relations and a postgraduate degree in International Political Economy. Susbin has supported sixth-form students at Guildford County School with their post-18 careers and educational journeys and wishes to bring his experience to support Ash Manor students towards their future.
